Our Library
The School Library is a bright, welcoming and vibrant space where our students are supported by a full time, professional Librarian.
Located on the second floor of the main Teaching Block, the Library is on the same floor as the English and Languages departments, and is easily accessible to all Faculties to support teaching and learning.
Using the Library
The Librarian, Ms Prince, encourages students to read for pleasure – you can borrow books to take home and choose free books to keep, offered at World Book Day and Scotland Book Week.

Teachers are encouraged to bring classes to the library for:
-
Reading time
-
Curriculum investigation
-
PC and internet access
Library Noticeboard
The Library is open to students throughout the day, including before and after school and at lunchtimes.

The library is closed at break and sometimes during classes.

Please see the library noticeboard for other closures, and follow our Twitter feed at

We have an Escape Connect Relate collection in the library to support mental health and well-being. You can access more information about the Escape Connect Relate collection, via this link.

We also hold copies of Teen Titles, the book review magazine for children and teenagers featuring book reviews written by Edinburgh school pupils – including WHHS pupils! There is more information about Teen Titles, including digital issues, here, on the Young Scot website.
