Modern Studies helps to create an understanding of how the world works today. It is a subject unique to the Scottish secondary school curriculum. The focus is to develop learners’ knowledge and understanding of contemporary political and social issues in local, Scottish, United Kingdom and the international contexts as well as developing skills that will help them in life and academically.
